About the Experience for Women
Women are extraordinary creatures and we should be treated as such. We are calling this our Sacred Feminine retreat specifically designed for women. It will fill your senses with wonderment and joy. You will learn to tap into your highest level of intuition and connect deeply with your true self. All while being surrounded by the beautiful masculine who will be there to serve in an exotic location. What does that mean? It simply means you will be treated like a Goddess and may never want to return home.
Why Morocco?
Why not Morocco? This is the question. Morocco is certainly exotic and colorful, but it has a special spiritual and soul awe-inspiring influence. When we create transformational retreats we want people to leave their comfort zone and places of familiarity. The western world is all too familiar and to have deepened experiences, we many times need a push into a totally different world. From the medieval city of Fez to the Sand dunes of the Sahara. We take you on a journey of a lifetime, one that will leave a lasting impression on your soul.
Why Ayahuasca?
The lifestyle model that is known as Western Society, is rapidly spreading to far corners of the world, where modern cultures did not exist. Even Indigenous Tribes deep in the Amazon are plagued with modern sicknesses, like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. We are infringing upon their world. In our own world, we have created an epidemic of unhappy, dysfunctional people that have lost connection with source, spirit, creator, God, ancestors, and traditions.
Ayahuasca can help us rediscover ourselves, reconnect to our higher selves. This plant medicine can truly help clear out the cobwebs and baggage, we may be carrying around. It can get us back on the path of self–awareness, which will lead to a more balanced future and wholeness.
How Our Ayahuasca Experience is Different
When most people think of Ayahuasca they have either heard or experienced something that most would not want to attempt. The“purge” is what this medicine is known to do, for many is just too much. It can be an intimidating process.
This is why we created bespoke experiences for people. We take into account that everyone has different levels of background and comfort levels. For our first-timers, our approach is unlike most others. We have hand-chosen the best of a handful of shamans to deliver the medicine in beautifully relaxed environments, without the degree of purge that many of the other ceremonies deliver.
As people become more experienced, the traditional ceremonies with a purge are also extremely beneficial. They offer an experience that for some can be very healing. However, for newbies or beginners, the thought of puking in a ceremonial bucket and not making it to the bathroom in time is not so appealing. We are here to tell you its not always necessary.
There is a scientific reason for the vomiting (see our blog on to purge or not to purge) however, sometimes a purge can take shape in other forms, such as crying, sweating, or even laughter.

What to Expect at the Retreat
Accommodations
Glamorous Tents, that will not feel like you are camping. These tents have all the luxuries of a high-end hotel. Hot running water for showers, flushing toilets, even Moroccan rugs to soften your steps. This is where we will be for our“journey” with ChocoAya. The remaining nights will be in various parts of the country at top-notch Riads and other unique resting spots.
Ceremony Night
We open the ceremony with a prayer and setting intentions. You will be asked prior to coming a list of questions you desire to have answers to. This will be important as your anchor during the journey.
Each ceremony starts at 6 pm where we will sit in a circle and set intentions. The environment will be calm and peaceful in a relaxed communal family-style setting. A comfortable mattress will be provided for the journey.
At all times during the ceremony, you will be closely monitored by our experienced Shaman and support facilitators.
Visuals
Much of what Mother Aya has to offer is thru powerful visuals that one experiences. It is different for every person and will also be different each night you journey. In a traditional Ayahuasca brew, there are two plants at work, two separate entities: Ayahuasca and Chacruna. Chacruna is typically what causes the skeletons in your closet to come front and center. She is what will most likely cause your visual show and it is usually very personal. It is different for each person, but most likely Chacruna works in the shadow to show you her sacred geometry. These visuals usually occur in the first 90 minutes if they are going to appear. No one truly understands why these types of visuals occur. It has been said that it is a way of throwing our brains into a mixing bowl to allow for a purge to happen. This then allows her partner Ayahuasca to come in with the opening, so the awareness and valuable downloads can come thru. When these visuals come on it is often helpful to not fight it. Accept what you are being given in that moment, breathe and try not to be fearful. Chacruna gives us fear to release it and allow the illumination to happen.
Mother Aya then will descend upon you to shed light, open doors and speak with us through the subconscious. Sometimes the messages leave much for interpretation and it is best not to try and make sense of them in the journey. Other times Aya, can be very blunt and obvious. It helps to be aware of the effects on your body, not your mind and keep your heart open. We often give a heart opener at the beginning of the ceremony before the journey begins to assist with this.
It is common after the ceremony to think, now what do I do with these visuals? It’s important not to take the visuals too literally. Aya and her gift is to reveal, she reveals patterns and beliefs, in hopes we will start to have self-awareness around these things. Mother Ayahuasca gives us exactly what we need at the moment in time.
The Teachings – Post Journey
The Ayahuasca journey and effects themselves can be anywhere between 2-15 hours, but average for most last from 4-6 hours.
After Ayahuasca transformation comes, whether it seems like it or not. It’s important to take the wisdom and knowledge learned and put it into practice.
This process is called Integration. It is probably one, if not the most important things to incorporate post-ceremony. Revela Retreats takes this part very seriously and we offer one on one coaching sessions, that are part of the initial offering. This process awakens us to certain ways we have behaved, patterns and where we may have been stuck. To continue the transformation process, it is important to maintain your connection to the medicine and work you have done.
Integration services will help you understand how to work with your new-found feelings and emotions, as well as release what no longer serves you. We offer something unique to help you develop natural intuition by changing brain wave cycles to a more relaxed theta brain wave state. Essentially we are helping you to re-wire part of your brain where an old story exists and re-wire it for a new one.
Some of the helpful things you can do on your own, as integration support are:
- For the days following ceremony usually 3-7, be as kind and gentle to yourself as possible.
- If possible it helps to take a day or two off work, for rest, relaxation and self-care.
- Time in nature, self–reflection
- 5 HTP which you can buy at any grocer or health food store. It is a natural supplement that helps restore and boost serotonin. If you feel any tiredness, fogginess, drowsiness, or emotional imbalance we recommend you take this right away for a few days. Do not take this supplement with SSRIs or other antidepressants.
- A swim in the ocean – the saltwater can be very grounding, cleansing and energizing. Or Epsom salt or mineral salt baths, if you have no ocean in close proximity. Our bodies are made of about 70% saline water and it is a good way to restore that balance.
- Journaling is also a good way to become more grounded
- Reach out, connect with others of like mind and heart and those whom you have shared this experience with.
- Receive bodywork, acupuncture, and or chiropractic care. This is also grounding and can help integrate your experience on a deeper level. (These services will be available at the retreat facility.)
How to Prepare for an Ayahuasca Ceremony
What to Expect and How to Prepare
Preparing physically is important as it will help to make the experience go more smoothly. We recommend avoiding these things:
- No illicit drugs three weeks prior to the ceremony
- No fermented or yeasted food or drink three weeks prior since there could be a chemical conflict between tyramine and MAOIs
- No alcohol or pork for two weeks prior to the ceremony
- No dairy, fried foods, caffeine, or sugar for two days prior to the ceremony
Emotional and Spiritual Preparations:
Your mental state going into the ceremony is very important and can have a profound effect on your overall experience.
We suggest any relaxation technique that works to calm your mind, finding some peace and solitude during the day. This will help you after your journey as well to absorb the experience and integrate it. Meditation, yoga, breathwork are all things that help prior to your journey.
Prior to ceremony, we will have each person set an intention. We approach the medicine in a respectful way. We ask each participant to come prepared with something they want to resolve or possibly something to understand on a deeper level that the universe could help answer. Mother Aya as it is commonly referred to, does not always show you what you intended to see, but she always gives us what we need at that time.
